POLICE are appealing for information after money and gold was stolen from a Bromsgrove property.

During the incident, which happened on Friday, April 10, at 4.40pm, a 77-year-old was at her Lydiate Ash home when her doorbell rang.

The woman looked out of her window and saw an elderly Asian couple dressed in traditional clothing standing on her doorstep.

When she opened the door another man pushed through the couple and entered the house, knocking the victim on the shoulder, which caused minor injuries.

The man went into the back garden with a shovel and red box and on seeing this, the victim left the house through the front door.

By this point the elderly couple were no longer present, but four white men appeared on the drive and were let into the property by the first man.

The victim stayed on her front lawn for around 20-30 minutes trying to seek the attention of any passers by. The men ran out of the house possibly in the direction of the A38.

The elderly couple were seen driving towards Alvechurch Highway in a light blue saloon vehicle.

Money and family gold were taken from the property.

The couple are described as Asian, and the woman and the male were aged between 60 and 70-years-old. They were both wearing traditional Indian clothing, the woman in a cream sari and the male had on a maroon turban and a long black beard.

The five men were all white, medium build, aged around 30 and wearing 'casual' clothing, except one of the men who had his face partially covered with a black scarf.
