A CHRISTMAS tree festival spreading festive cheer was held at Bromsgrove Methodist Church, in Stratford Road.

The event saw more than 20 trees donated from various organisations in the town including Bromsgrove Scouts and Bromsgrove Library.

The theme of the festival this year was The Night Before Christmas and during the event visitors were able to enjoy music from singers as well as festive hits.

Many of the trees were made by young children and this year’s festival was organised by John and Irene Rhead.

John said: “There are always odd problems but they have all been overcome. It has been hard work but absolutely satisfying."

He added that he and his wife were "delighted" by the amount of entries received for this year's event.

All donations given by people viewing the festival are being donated to Acorns Children’s Hospice.

The annual festival was held 10 till 2pm from Wednesday, December 17, to Saturday, December 20.
