TO celebrate Halloween the Norbury Youth Theatre will present the Sweeney Todd Shock ‘N’ Roll Show.

Between Wednesday, October 29 and Saturday, November 1 the tale of the Demon Barber of Fleet Street will come to life in a light-hearted pantomime.

The story focuses on a twisted arrangement between Mrs Lovett who makes pies and Sweeney Todd who provides a gruesome filling.

The production is set in Victorian London and features a talented cast of 13 to 18 year olds.

This latest performance is the most ambitious that the youth theatre has put on in the last five years with surprises, special effects and impressive set pieces.

Sweeney Todd first appeared as a murderer in a Victorian publication in the 19th century called the String of Pearls, he later appeared in the British film, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street in the 30s.
