BROMSGROVE councillors agreed to £20,000 being used towards the public realm in High Street.
At the latest meeting of the district council, held on September 24, Councillor Mike Webb, portfolio holder for finance, presented the request saying it would be funded from Section 106 funds received in relation to land at Sherwood Road.
There were angry exchanges though as Cllr Webb accused the Labour councillors of not voting previously for money to go towards improving the High Street - a claim disputed by Councillor Luke Mallett, leader of the Labour group.
Labour councillor Rory Shannon said he was not against £20,000 for the High Street, though he was not sure why it was needed adding he was not sure it was enough.
A vote was taken and the item was passed unanimously.
