PUPILS at a Rednal school turned detective to investigate some alien activity.

Mysterious noise were heard, and flashing lights seen in the sky at Lickey Hills Primary and Nursery School, in Old Birmingham Road.

The children found debris scattered around the school playing fields, a strange pattern of burn marks in the grass and huge footsteps leading to green slime material.

Year five pupils, and their teachers, were called to the field by police, who came to the support the event, helping them with their investigations.

Their work began to point to the possibilty of an alien spacecraft having crashed in the field.

Paula Rudd, the deputy headteacher at the school, said: "Back in class the pupils gave statements to the police and then constructed detailed maps of the scene and made notes of all of the day’s events.

"The classes decided that they needed expert help and wrote letters to a scientist to discuss the possibility of ‘Is there anybody out there?"
