INFORMATION is being sought in connection with a car jacking in the Alvechurch area.

The incident took place between 9.45pm on Monday, August 18 when the victim, a 42-year-old male from Birmingham, had his car keys and vehicle stolen.

The victim was driving along the A441 Redditch Road, Alvechurch when a vehicle flashed him from behind. The man then pulled over into a lay-by, followed by the vehicle. A woman got out of her vehicle and told the victim his lights were not working. The victim was then grabbed by another person, thought to be male, by the rear of his hooded top and pulled to the ground, where his keys were taken from his hands and his vehicle driven off by the suspects. The incident took place in an unlit lay-by and so the victim was not able to describe the suspects.

Detective Constable Matt Archer said: "We are taking this incident incredibly seriously as the car was taken by force from the victim in a calculated way. We have managed to recover the stolen car but are keen to make the public aware of the incident to prevent it from happening to others."
