A NATIONAL project to educate students to keep the environment tidy has reached Bromsgrove.

Aston Fields Middle School in Drummond Road was visited by Bin it! a drama-based education programme.

They encouraged pupils to make positive choices about the disposal of litter and urge them to take pride in their community.

Since the programme began nine years ago, it has visited 350 schools and been seen by over 52,000 students, in the UK.

Louisa Rowntree, communications manager, Wrigley said: “Bin it! has been an incredibly successful programme to date and we are delighted to be running it again this year. We hope that its success will continue to grow as we reach out to even more young people, reinforcing our messages around littering and urging children to take pride in and look after their local communities and environments.”

The Wrigley Company worked with education consultancy Rapport to target at 11-13 year olds.

This year the project visited over 100 secondary schools across the UK.

Schools involved in Bin it! are provided with a resource pack that includes teachers’ notes, resource cards, activity cards and colour posters.
