THE Bishop of Worcester met traders and residents when he was given a tour of Droitwich Spa.

The Rt Rev Dr John Inge visited the town on Wednesday, October 2 and was welcomed by Mayor Anne Taft.

She showed him around the mayor’s parlour and he also visited the salt and radio museums at St Richard’s House in Victoria Square.

Visit organiser Canon Sheila Banyard, rural dean of Droitwich, and Janet Yates, the area partnership manager for Wychavon District Council, then showed him around the town.

He met traders in High Street and spoke to people about how they are doing in the current economic climate.

Mayor of Droitwich, Councillor Anne Taft, said: “It was great to welcome the bishop to Droitwich. He wanted to meet traders and get a flavour for what is happening in the town. The visit went very well.”
