A CELEBRATION of the diversity of Britain’s apples will take place at Webbs Garden Centre in Wychbold.

The free weekend event, which will take place on Saturday, October 13 and Sunday, October 14, is dedicated to the bountiful fruit harvest and will run from 11am – 4pm.

The weekend will give visitors the chance to see a wonderful array of apple trees and fruit plants and get expert advice and tips on how to produce fantastic results at home, along with apple tastings of different varieties. There will be an apple-themed ramble through the Riverside Gardens.

Horticultural expert David Lowe will be on hand both days to give advice and answer queries on fruit growing. Pershore College expert Richard Toft will be available to identify apple varieties on Sunday from 11am – 1pm and 2 – 4pm. Visitors are asked to bring along a representative sample apple from the tree to aid identification.

The 400 seat restaurant will be tantalizing customers with apple themed menu.

Webbs chairman Ed Webb said: “There is something delicious and satisfying about harvesting your own fruit. We are very lucky in this area to have the most wonderful apples in particular and we hope to celebrate this bounty with our visitors on our apple weekend.”
