A POPULAR annual charity day at Droitwich Golf Club has raised over £7,000 for St Richard’s Hospice.
A total of 27 teams, made up of businesses and individuals, took part in the golf day, which is organised by hospice supporter and volunteer Graham Robertson.
The winning team was Worcester Hospital Contributors Association (WHCA) with runners up Rea Funeral Directors and with The Worcestershire Royals coming in third.
A putting competition was won by Michael Taylor, longest drive by Michael Flather and nearest the pin went to Terry Thompson.
Mr Robertson said: “There was a great atmosphere among the teams with the golf and the evening dinner completing a superb day. We are grateful to all those who generously supported the event and raised such a large sum of money towards the caring work of St Richard’s.”
St Richard’s Hospice provides free specialist palliative care for patients living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and supports their families.
