PREPARATIONS are underway for an animal extravaganza which will be raising money for charity.

Animals R Magic is being held at the Jinney Ring Craft Centre, in Hanbury Road, on Sunday, September 23.

At the event, animal charities will be bringing along alpacas, owls, rabbits, ferrets, dogs and birds.

Visitors will be able to handle a variety of animals, and take a pony ride as part of the activities designed to appeal to visitors of all ages.

The event will also be the final chance to see the creatures of Jinney Ring’s sculpture trail, which features more than 100 artworks produced by sculptors across the country.

On the day there will be a one-off charge of £1 for adults, 50p for children, with all the proceeds going to the Cinnamon Trust, which helps elderly and terminally ill people care for their pets.

Jinney Ring owner Amanda Sunter said: “Our animal-themed sculpture trail has proved a huge hit this year and it provides the perfect backdrop for this family event which we hope will raise awareness of the various animal charities in the area.

“The Cinnamon Trust is one of the Jinney Ring’s nominated charities this year.

“It’s a great cause which enables people to benefit from having pets in later life.”

Around 150 people in Worcestershire currently benefit from the Cinnamon Trust’s services. The charity is looking for volunteers - anyone interested can call 01736 757900.

The Animals R Magic event runs from 11.30am-4.30pm on Sunday, September 23.
