MEMBERS of a judo club from Droitwich’s German twin town have paid a visit to the Spa.

Youngsters from Bad Ems Judo Club came for a two week stay from Sunday, July 29.

The team of 55 stayed at Amphlett House, Worcester Road, and slept on judo mats provided by their counterparts from Droitwich Judo Kan.

The visitors also trained with the Spa-based club while they were here and enjoyed a walking tour of Droitwich and a trip to the lido.

The German youngsters were also taken to sites across the region and met town mayor Councillor Anne Taft.

Finally, they went to watch judo at the London Olympics after all 55 visitors managed to get tickets for the event through the German Judo Federation.
