TRAINS have been delayed along the Hereford to Worcester line tonight.

The delays were blamed on a small landslip or subsidence in a cutting near to Ledbury station.

A spokesman from Network Rail said a train driver reported earth had slipped down the slope towards the track at around 3.30pm.

Some trains were diverted while engineers investigated the problem.

The spokesman said: “There has been some earth movement and a little bit of earth has come down the embankment and is on the railway but it’s not enough to cause safety concerns.

“We will have to shore up the side of the embankment later on.

“For now, the line is not closed but trains can only pass at slow speed so people should allow extra time for their journey.”
