A MAN in his 40s has died in hospital following a collision that occurred near Droitwich Spa last month.

At 6.45pm on Friday, June 15, a Citroen C3 and a lorry were in collision on the A38 at the Copcut Elm traffic island. It led to a closure of the A38 for several hours and bad rush hour congestion.

The driver of the Citroen was taken to the QE hospital in Birmingham with multiple injuries and following treatment was considered to be in a stable condition.

He remained in hospital and in recent days became unwell; he died around midnight on Sunday (July 1).

A post mortem has yet to be held so it is unknown at this time what the cause of death was.
