A MAN has been taken to hospital after the minibus he was driving crashed and flipped over, leaving him trapped.

The 23-year-old man was taken to the major trauma centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham with head injuries and complaining of chest pains following the incident, which happened in the early hours of this morning.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to a field on the road between Martin Hussingtree and Fernhill Heath at around 3.40am, but it is not clear when the crash happened.

An ambulance spokesman said: "The van had gone into a ditch on a corner and ended up on its roof on the opposite side of the road.

"The driver was trapped upside down in the van for around 45 minutes."

He was cut free by firefighters before being taken to hospital.
