CASH has been stolen from a caravan following a spate of break-ins at several caravan parks over the weekend.

At least seven caravans were broken into on caravan parks in Broadway, Evesham and Hanley Swan between Friday, June 29and Sunday, July 1.

In Broadway, five caravans on a number of separate parks all off Childswickham Road were targeted, as well as two further caravans on sites off School Road in Evesham and Blackmore Park in Hanley Swan.

All but one of the caravans were broken into via a window.

They are residential and fixed permanently to one site, rather than being holiday or touring caravans.

Detective sergeant David Knight, who is investigating the break-ins, said: "It is unusual for us to receive such a high number of reports of mobile homes being broken into over such a short period of time.

"We are still in the process of taking details from the victims in order to establish exactly what has been stolen. So far, we know that some cash has been taken from one of the homes and a lot of damage has been caused to the windows of most of the caravans.

Anyone with information about these incidents can call Det Sgt Knight on 0300 333 3000, quoting 419S 010712 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
