POLICE want to trace the driver of an Audi TT who helped at the scene of a fatal collision in Droitwich.

A man in his 60s died after the white Mini Cooper he was driving hit a wall belonging to a house on Clattercut Lane in Rushock at around 10.15pm on Tuesday, June 26.

On hearing a noise, the householder went outside. The householder flagged down a passing motorist to help her get inside the Mini in order to assist the man, who was the only person in the vehicle and was trapped.

Paramedics attended shortly afterwards but the driver of the Mini was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner for Worcestershire has been informed and a post mortem is due to take place in due course.

Senior investigating officer PC Lee Baker said: "The car which stopped at the scene of the collision is thought to be a dark-coloured Audi TT and the motorist who got out to help the householder free the man from the Mini is described as white, in his 20s, with dark hair.

"Unfortunately, the man in the Audi left the scene before officers arrived and could take his details.

"We are keen to hear from this man or anyone else who may have witnessed the collision.

"We believe the Mini had previously been driven from Cutnall Green along Clattercut Lane, towards the A448, Kidderminster Road, before it collided with the wall and I would also urge anyone who saw it on its journey last night to contact us."

Anyone with information about the collision can call PC Baker on 0300 333 3000 quoting reference 799S 260612.
