A MOTORBIKE rider was airlifted after he was in a crash with a car.

The smash happened in Evesham Road at Norton near Evesham, near the junction with Church Walk at about 7.35pm yesterday.

A senior paramedic, ambulance, the Midlands Air Ambulance from Staffordshire and trauma doctor from West Midlands Ambulance Service all attended.

A ambulance service spokesman said: “On arrival, we found a rider lying about 20 feet away from the motorbike and car.

The car had damage to nearside and the windscreen had been smashed.

“The rider had a head injury and was not fully conscious, and also had leg injuries.

“He was immobilised using a neck collar and spinal board before being airlifted to the Major Trauma Centre at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in Birmingham.

“A 16-year-old teenage girl and a 17-year-old boy were in the car.

“Neither were hurt but they were shaken by what had happened.”
