A COUPLE who live together at a Droitwich Spa care home have marked 70 years of marriage.

George and Eleanor Naish, who live at Dorset House, Blackfriars Avenue, celebrated their platinum anniversary on Wednesday, July 20.

Ninty-six-year-old George met wife Eleanor, 91, at a dance in Worcester.

They got married at St John’s Church, Worcester, when George returned from an RAF training camp ahead of serving in the Second World War in Italy.

After returning from Italy, Mr Naish spent the rest of his working life as a trading standards officer for Worcestershire County Council. Mrs Naish worked at number of different office-based jobs in the county and for the Ministry of Defence.

The happy couple lived in Worcester before moving to Dorset House a few years ago.

Mr and Mrs Naish have a son, Phil Naish, and daughter Gina Goodwin.
