A MAN has been seriously injured after the car he was travelling in hit a tree in Stourport-on-Severn last night.
The man in his 20s was trapped in the car at Lower Lickhill Road when the West Midlands Ambulance Service was called shortly after midnight.
Two ambulance crews, a paramedic area support officer and a MERIT emergency medic attended the scene.
A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said: “The car had significant damage to the drivers’ side and meant the driver, a man in his 20s, was trapped in the vehicle.
“The man sustained multiple facial injuries and cuts to his hand. Crews and the medic worked with the fire service to carefully extricate him from the vehicle whilst the man was monitored and given treatment for his injuries.
“The man was immobilised with a neck collar and spinal board before being taken by land ambulance on blue lights to Worcester Royal Hospital.”
