Spa volunteers to help community project

First published in News

YOUNG people from Droitwich Spa are volunteering to support a key community project.

A group from the Prince’s Trust team programme is lending a helping hand to a farm and animal sanctuary until Friday, June 15.

The Prince’s Trust’s team programme, delivered through Worcester College of Technology, supports unemployed young people to help them get back into work, education or training.

Team 162 Droitwich is currently completing a 12-week programme. As part of the initiate the students have been planning and running fundraising events to be able to buy the equipment needed to complete work at Gloverspiece Mini Farm and Educational Centre near Worcester.

The team have set up a sponsored triathlon and two car washes to help support its efforts.

They have been busy looking at creating a plan for improvements, resourcing equipment needed to complete the project and learning who will be using the sanctuary in the future.

The sanctuary is a place for abandoned animals to receive care and shelter. Animals include horses, rabbits and ducks.
