A DARING Droitwich Spa woman is set to leap from an airplane to raise charity funds in memory of her father.

Mandy Able, from Dodderhill Road, will take on the daunting skydive challenge on Saturday (May 26) in aid of St Richard’s Hospice.

She chose to support the charity after it looked after her terminally ill father Brian Shore.

The popular town man was diagnosed with cancer in June 2011 and died just four months later in October aged 75.

She said: “I was aware of the hospice and what it does because my mum volunteers at the hospice shop in Droitwich after she had breast cancer in 2008. Following her recovery she wanted to give some support to cancer charities.

“I have done some fundraising for the hospice in the past but when they sent me the information about the skydive I thought it would be a great way to raise a significant chunk of money for them.

“I have never done anything like this before but i’m not too nervous as the moment.”

Anyone who wants to support her fundraising efforts, which have already raised £1,000 for the cause, can visit her donation page at justgiving.com/Mandy-Able Alternatively, money can be given to her mum Chris Shore at the St Richard’s Hospice shop in the town.
