The girls got the Redditch Swimming Club Championships underway in the 100 yds breaststroke and Vicky Crisp and Alex Munsey finished joint first in the 9/10 event.

Sarah Holtom set a club record in the 11/12 section followed by Nicki Cranshaw and Samantha Beattie and Laura Cranshaw won the 13/14 event with Victoria Webb second and Katie Roberts third. In the 15/16 age group victory went to Rebecca Debens and silver to Gemma Tongue. Lisa Newport won the 17s and over in record time ahead of Rachel Stoddard Julie Edwards. and Newport took gold in the open age.

William Major-Mackay pipped Sam Holtom to the boys 9/10 100 yards breaststroke with Nathan Rands third. William Beddow was victorious in the 11/12 age group with Scott Newton second and Daniel Anderson third and tom Crook finished on top for the 13/14s followed by Chris Harris and Oliver Stoddart.

Jonathan Webb powered ahead in the 15/16 age group with a convincing win followed by Craig Newton in second and Mark Constant third. Sam Rowley finished first in the 17s and over group and Jonathan Webb achieved gold in the open event, with silver to Sam Rowley and bronze to Craig Newton.

The 200 yards butterfly was the last event of the evening, with Sarah Holtom the winner for the U14 group and Rachael Jones first for the 15s and over.

The boys U14 winner was Simon Crowe with Richard Walker second and Oliver Stoddard third and the 15s and over group saw Paul Wilkes take a well deserved new club record in 2.09.90 finishing in gold.
