New member Steve Spurgeon won Redditch Chess Club's quickplay evening with fourpoints.
Redditch are entering the Worcestershire County League this year, captained by Richard Turner.
And the newcomers kicked off with away wins over Worcester City (4-1) and Hagley (3-2).
