A TOP cricket team in Worcester has donated a £250 prize to a city school.
Worcester Nomads under-15s scooped the cash from the Lord Taverners Charity after coming runners-up in a 1,481-team competition.
Terry Birt, who is manager and coach of the team, chose to give the prize to the PE department at Manor Park School, St John's.
"We were runners up in the Sunbank/ECB national under-15 competition and we won the cash," he said. "One of the conditions is that it has to be given to a local good cause or charity involving children or sport, and that's why we chose the school."
