FEARS the siting of an incinerator on the British Sugar site would cause "planning blight" were supported by district councillor Fran Oborski.
At the public meeting she said: "The applicants have singularly failed to demonstrate this is the most suitable site in Worcestershire.
"Common sense would suggest to me that a site should have been selected which was nearer to the centre of the waste arising; nearer to the major road network in the county and accessible by the main rail network in the county."
The Wyre Forest district councillor told the inquiry right from the outset it became obvious the Stourport Road site had already been chosen.
She believed the applicants ignored Government policy on planning and waste management which stressed the need for the best practicable environmental option (BPEO).
This was "the option that provides the most benefits or the least damage to the environment as a whole."
She said she was "extremely unhappy" at the lack of detail in regard to landscape proposals, alternative provision of football and cricket pitches and noise and light pollution."
