FIVE Ways Old Edwardians' miserable run ended with an emphatic 39-10 win against North Midlands One whipping boys Warley at the weekend.

Jez Williams' side halted a winless run of 14 matches, including only one draw, at the expense of a Warley side yet to put a league point on the board after 14 fixtures this season.

The win lifted Five Ways away from the bottom two and Williams knows wins in both their remaining fixtures will keep his side up.

"Warley were better than I expected them to be," said the Old Eds captain. But we ran in some good tries and are aiming for two wins to end the season.

"With Bishops Castle and Tenbury losing at the weekend I expect one win will be enough to keep us up."

Five Ways return to league action on Saturday, April 6, at home to mid-table Upton after a two week break from action.

But given the choice, Williams would probably be more interested in ruining rivals Redditch's promotion hopes on the last day of the season.

Eds are set to visit North Midlands Two side Old Griffs on Saturday with the kick-off time and fixture to be confirmed.
