HOCKEY: Three more crucial points slipped away from Stourport as they dropped to the bottom of National League Division One.

Stourport lost 1-0 at Brooklands with Chris Hart scoring in the second half of an important relegation battle.

Although Brooklands had more penalty corners, neither side created any other real chances.

Stourport are one point below Lewes and Barford Tigers and two below Brooklands and Chelmsford in a congested bottom half.

They have a crucial match on Sunday at home to fifth-from-top Firebrands when a win is badly needed with three games left.

Shrewsbury 1 Stourport 2nds 6

The seconds made it six wins in a row and again captain Tom White scored a couple of goals.

The others were scored by Steve Ellis, Nick Grey, Nick Chambers and David Westhead.

Stourport 3rds 3 Cannock 4

One of Stourport's toughest fixtures is against Cannock who just sneaked a win on Saturday.

The Stourport side included former National League players David Knott and Andy Watson and though Knott scored a brace, it was not enough.

Dominic Roberts added the third following a good run.

Stourport 4ths 3 Cannock 6ths 0

Two goals from striker Mark McKinnon and one from Steve Taylor were enough to give Stourport a comfortable win.

Stourport 5ths 4 Edgbaston 7

Although Stourport always looked like scoring, they did not defend well enough to defeat a slick attacking side.

Adrian Moulam gave Stourport a first-minute lead from the penalty spot but Edgbaston started to exert real pressure.

Robin Conway scored twice for the home side and Pete Moulam added one from close range.

But it was only Rob Farmer's valiant efforts in goal which kept Edgbaston to seven.

Olton 6 Stourport 6ths 1

Stourport took an under-strength side to Olton and paid the price with Pardoe scoring their only goal.

Stourport Badgers 1

Old Halesonans 2

The Badgers suffered their second consecutive defeat despite a goal from Cavendish.

Stourport Ladies 0

Harborne 2nds 2

Despite Stourport dictating the pace of the Worcestershire First Division match, two first-half Harborne goals were decisive.

The visitors went ahead in the 15th minute before Stourport began to push forward.

Vicky Whitehouse and Vicky Bristow played particularly well but were unable to prevent a second goal 10 minutes later.

In the second half, Stourport piled on the pressure but Harborne refused to succumb and still created their chances.

Teri Baron, Karen Roberts and Kate Bailey tore the visitors' defence apart only to find the final shot lacking.

Stourport were again unable to turn possession into points and go into their final match of the season at Evesham on Saturday.

Bromsgrove 0 Stourport 2nds 1

Andra Hughes scored the winning goal to give Stourport all three points in Worcestershire Second Division.

A hard-fought match saw both sides mount attacks but the first half remained goal-less.

Bromsgrove looked likely to score in the second half but Stourport snatched the points.

Rosie Williams found Zeta Guest whose shot was touched into the goal by Hughes.

Louise Bagnall returned to the team after injury.
