PATIENTS from Kidderminster have helped make history at the new Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
Tracey Towgood, of Dunlin Drive, Kidderminster, was the last expectant mother to have a baby - Ashley, who weighed in at 8lbs 2oz - at Ronkswood Hospital, Worcester, on Sunday before she was transferred to the new site.
And a five-year-old boy from Betjeman Court, Kidderminster was the first child to be transferred to the hospital.
Marcus Halford was checked into the new Riverbank Unit, which is dedicated to children, where he was presented with a teddy bear and card from the trust.
He had been taken ill with pneumonia on Thursday and sent straight to Ronkswood.
Mum Lynda said he had settled in well to his new surroundings - but was looking forward to going home.
