GYMNASTICS: Two Wyre Forest Gymnastics School members have qualified to represent the West Midlands at the National Club grade finals.

Hannah Pietkowicz, 13, and Harriet Atterbury, 11, made the squad after fine displays in the West Midland British Development Plan Championships.

The duo will head to the finals in Kettering on April 27 and 28.

Over 140 gymnasts attempted their club grades on the vault, bars, beam and floor, requiring a score of 28 to pass at Birmingham Sports Centre.

There was also a voluntary Level One competition where 13-year-old Jessica Lane managed a personal best score of 24.15.

Erin Taylor, 12, just missed a pass in Grade One, totalling 27.525.

In Grade Two, Pietkowicz scored 36 for a distinction and silver medal, while Atterbury achieved 35.075 for a distinction and fifth place.

Grade Three results saw Chelsea Hodges, 10, score 33.35 and eighth place for a distinction.

Katie Hodson, 11, managed 31.525, Alice Pretty, 10, 30.35 and Michaela Wilkins, 14, 29.8.

The girls train 10 hours a week at Harry Cheshire High School where coach Ann Combes holds classes for all ages and abilities.
