GYMNASTICS: Gymnast Alex Perry picked up an individual silver medal at the West Midland Recreational Floor and Vault preliminaries at Fenton Sports Centre, Stoke.
Wyre Forest Gymnastic School's Perry, seven, performed an outstanding floor routine to gain 10.4 out of a possible 11 points.
She was competing in the U-9 girls' A team which qualified for the April 14 finals after finishing in the top six in their heat with 64.4 points.
The B team and U-11s Bs also made the finals with scores of 64.8 and 61.4 points respectively.
The standard in the heat of the U-11 girls' A team meant their superb score of 68.7 was not enough for them to qualify.
