MOTORSPORT: Home racers Malcolm Herbert and Ken Garfield beat Kidderminster's Bill Evans into third place in the Over-40 class at Bewdley Motorcycling Club's trial, near Clows Top.

Evans dropped 20 marks, while his young son, Richard, won the Schoolboy class over the same sections with a debit of 13.

Best over the tricky A route section was Kidderminster's Kevin Taylor with 16, and Paul Bennett, of Wolverley, was second with 48.

Daniel Wood took the Clubman class with 27 followed by Kidderminster's Anthony Shanian, 30, and Bewdley's Mark Turner, 37.

The Twin Shock class was won by Taylor's brother, Steve, on 20 with Mark Roberts second on 29 and one-time grasstrack racer David Bill third on 68.

Bewdley MCC's next promotion is a trial on April 28 at Coney Green.
