MY grandfather, John Shearon, was born in Stourport in 1884. He married Jane Kershaw in St. George's Chapel in September 1911.
On the outbreak of the first world war he enlisted with the 2nd Bn. Worcester Regiment and was killed at Ypres in 1917.
I know very little about my grandfather's family. His parents were John and Elizabeth Shearon and on his marriage certificate both his and his father's profession were given as chimney sweep.
