WHILE the malevolent spectre of the incinerator still hovers over Foley Park, soon to hang upon the recommendation of the inspector hearing evidence in the town hall, it was heartening to see and hear the evidence given during the public evening on Thursday.
Elected local representatives Howard Martin, Fran Oborski and Nigel Knowles made brave and balanced statements that impressed.
The residents who spoke their, and our, individual and collective fears very definitely earned the spontaneous applause which broke out from a large and appreciative attendance.
No matter what the outcome, each one deserves our most sincere thanks, as does the prolonged campaigning efforts of SKI and Friends of the Earth members, so ably driven by Clare Cassidy and her devoted helpers.
Wyre Forest residents owe each one of them a huge debt.
