MORE than 400 of the city's best young rugby talent competed at Sixways' theatre of dreams in the Worcester & District High Schools Floodlit Rugby Tournament.

Bishop Perowne, Blessed Edward, Chantry, Christopher Whitehead and Nunnery Wood all did themselves proud with some high-quality rugby between year seven and 11 sections.

Blessed Edward and Christopher Whitehead shared the year seven shield after a 5-5 draw in the final. In the year eight final, Nunnery Wood overcame Christopher Whitehead 10-5 while, in the year nine section, Bishop Perowne beat Blessed Edward 12-5.

Year 10 winners were Chantry, pictured left, who had David Southall to thank for the try which sealed a 5-3 victory over Nunnery Wood. The win was dedicated to Paul Barnes who broke his arm while playing for Chantry.

In year 11, Nunnery Wood picked up their second title of the day with a 17-5 win over Chantry. The victory was notable because it was this side's fourth title in successive years. It was also their fifth final appearance in as many years.
