LETTER HAVING read in the Shuttle/Times & News that Lionel Newton has resigned as chairman of Kidderminster Harriers, I feel it is a great shame.
He was so approachable and would listen on all matters relating to football.
I feel that we will not find anyone like him again, not only for this reason but also for his generosity to the club. This, I think, has been unbelievable.
People in this town should have supported him.
He warned everyone, but no-one listened to him.
This community may regret that they have lost his financial support and Kidderminster and district are going to be the losers.
The Wyre Forest large companies and people have been given a wake-up call and if they don't take heed now they will lose this Football League club forever.
This would be such a shame after all the hard work that has been done to achieve league status.
I, as a fan, would like to thank Lionel Newton for the time and energy he has given to Kidderminster Harriers.
