Jim Bowler was elected chairman, and Bill Aston vice-chairman, at the 28th annual meeting.
Frank Tschak is again arranging the programme of speakers for the year.
Club member Bill Aston gave a talk on March 6, describing the judging requirements for athletic field events. The team of judges have to approve all the equipment used, then signal any faults and measure the result.
He displayed a javelin, hammer, shot putt and discus, showing the techniques used.
At the previous meeting Ben Windiat of Slippery Sales Aquatic Centre gave a talk about aquariums and the origins and breeding of the various fish. He described the assembly of tanks and the supporting aeration, cleaning and lighting.
