YOUNGSTERS in the Vale will get a shot at tennis thanks to Sport England.
Pershore Tennis Centre has been successful with an Awards For All application and has been granted £3,718 to help local children. A major part of the grant will be used to take a roadshow around schools in the area.
Simon Thomas, county tennis development officer, said: "The roadshow will give many children in the Vale a chance to have a go and it's a great way to build a partnership between schools and the clubs".
Schools taking part will all be invited to enter a team in a tournament and some will be invited to become a school club site. If your school has not yet been contacted please contact Vale Tennis.
The Easter holiday sees the start of the summer programme for juniors. The camps, which were very popular last year, take place at Littletons Tennis Club from April 2 to 5 and at Pershore Tennis Centre from April 8 to 11.
The camps are suitable for children aged four to teenager and for beginner through to regular player. Contact Vale Tennis for further information on 07940 916146.
