I FEEL I must write to say how disappointed I was to read in the Journal of Willersey Parish Council's objections to the application for planning permission to build 32 extra bedrooms on the former Group 4 site at Fox Hill.
Although I have worked at Group 4 for many years, I stress that this is my own personal opinion as a resident of the area.
However, working on the Group 4 estate has given me an insight into the care and attention Jorgen Philip-Sorensen has always taken to ensure that any development is carried out in a tasteful manner so as to blend in and not intrude on the beauty of the Cotswold surroundings.
I find the main complaint from the village, that of the number of lights on the hill, extraordinary. I have often thought how pretty the hill looks at night with the lights from the Group 4 estate - indeed when the snow is on the ground, one could be forgiven for believing they were in a sleepy Alpine village rather than the heart of the English Cotswolds. And having tried to find my car in the car park, I can assure you the lighting is far from bright!
Group 4 Falck is a major employer in the area and contributes in many other ways to the local community, both financially and otherwise, and I think we should count our blessings that we have a company that puts protection of the environment at the forefront of any plans for business expansion.
