A RAFTING team has been scrubbing up at a Worcester beauty salon to raise funds for Acorns Children's Hospice and the County Air Ambulance.
A charity beauty night, held on Wednesday at Diva in Copenhagen Street, saw The Odyssey Rafters and their supporters indulging in facials and manicures to raise £120 for the cause.
The cash will go towards £500 of sponsorship the team needs to gather before a 100-mile river race from Hay-on-Wye to Chepstow in June.
"The night went really well, and we're very pleased with the amount of money we managed to raise," said Mark Woodward, team spokesman.
He said the crew was looking forward to the river challenge, due to take place on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, June 1, 2 and 3.
"As well as the team, we've probably got a back-up team of between 10 and 11," he said.
"Over the three days, they'll be helping us maintain the raft and looking after us."
