THE coffee morning held at 18 Upper Ferry Lane last Saturday morning raised over £170 for St James and St Peter's Churches. Among the raffle prize winners were: Rita de Boer, Cherry Gray, Ros Mason, Sally Linsey, Thea Wild, Janet Teague, Edna Giles, Mrs Walker and Jean Fardon.

There will not be a service at St James' Church this Sunday, instead Palm Sunday will be celebrated with a united service at St Peter's, Powick at 11am when the children of Junior Church will take part in "The Road to Easter", a presentation of Holy Week.

The choir of Callow End Primary School took part in a Spring Festival entitled Lift High the Cross in Worcester Cathedral last Thursday evening. Over a thousand children sang songs and hymns to the glory of God. The festival was conducted by Geoff Weaver (RSCM) and accompanied by organ and brass ensemble.

If anyone would like to make a donation towards Easter lilies for St James' Church in memory of a loved one please contact Jean Lean (01886) 832269. The church will be decorated on Saturday, March 30 from 10.30am.

An evening of live music, provided by Mark Brannelly will take place at the Blue Bell Inn on Sunday, March 31 from 8pm onwards. There will be a grand Easter raffle, prizes will include whisky, Easter eggs, glass etc and is in aid of St Richard's Hospice.

On Good Friday, March 29 there will be a short service at St James' Church at noon.
