Forthampton & District Royal British Legion. The No 8 North Gloucestershire Group meeting was held at Forthampton on February 25. The president N J Pittman welcomed branch and Women's Section members from Newent, Tewkesbury, Ashchurch, Staunton and Forthampton. He then said the exortation. The chairman E Leiper asked for apologies, these were noted. The secretary R Carter read out the minutes of the last meeting. No matters arising. Correspondence was read out from national and county and the main items were highlighted and discussed. Branch reports were presented showing what they were doing and had done since the last meeting. These were very varied and the chairman then read out the Poppy Appeal latest results from the local villages. He said even though Twyning did not have a branch or Women's Section their village had a good team of collectors and this year they had won the Group Poppy Appeal Cup and he would make the arrangements for it be presented to them. Due to a very poor response last year it was agreed not to hold a group service this year. The chairman closed the meeting at 9pm thanking the members. Date of next meeting, May 22 at Staunton.
