A TRIP to Finland in July promises to be the highlight of a busy year for Bromyard Choral Society
Its programme of concerts continues at St Peter's Church, Bromyard, on April 20 and at Great Witley Church on April 22 - with both performances starting at 7.30pm.
At both events soloists Andrea Callandine and David Watkin Holmes will join the 60-member choir to sing Schubert's Mass in G and Vivaldi's Gloria (tickets £6 in advance of £8 on door).
On May 3 the Bromyard singers will be joined by the Cantare Choir from Holland to sing at St Michael's Church, Tenbury Wells, performing a collection of small pieces.
In July the Bromyard choir is set to travel to Finland where it will join an Ahtari choir to celebrate the 100th anniversary of its church by singing Vivaldi's Gloria and Mozart's A Ve Verum Corpus.
The trip will climax on July 29 with a performance at Helsinki's underground Temppeliaukio Church.
Choir member Mary Ganderton said: "We're ambassadors for Bromyard when we travel. It will be a superb experience.
"In Finland it's a different culture and apparently the Finns are putting on all sorts of things for us. We are staying with families in Ahtari where most of them have a cottage by the lake with a sauna."
