WORCESTER City must strive to finish off the season in style according to assistant boss Mick Tuohy.

The St George's Lane club entertain Crawley Town tomorrow (3pm) looking to end a poor run of home form and also buck their recent trend of seeing their seasons tail off.

Last year City lost their last four Dr Martens Premier Division games which cost them a great chance of taking third place while in 1999-2000 they had a blip which almost thrust them back into relegation danger.

"We had a good run last year but towards the end of the season came into a spell where everybody hit a bad patch and we finished disappointingly," he said.

"But we've had one or two additions and we want to finish as high as possible and in style to get ourselves in a confident frame of mind for pre-season."

City lost 1-0 at the Broadfield Stadium in December but despite a dreadful first-half showing bounced back with a gutsy second half display.

"We were down to the bare bones when we went to their place but after a poor first-half I think we were unlucky not to come away with something," said Tuohy.

"Tomorrow will be another difficult match and added to that is the fact that the last time they came here we put four past them in the Dr Martens Cup final so they will take that into account and it should be a lively encounter.

"They are a big, strong side but having said that I don't think we are lightweights by any means.

"We need to put on a good display after some disappointing performances in recent matches at St George's Lane."

Tuohy thinks City could, like Crawley, come to regret their inconsistency at the end of the season, with the Sussex side having slipped out of championship contention in recent weeks.

"Crawley, like a number of teams including us, have failed to keep their form going and I think the title race is now between Kettering and Tamworth although Kettering had a blip against Ilkeston in midweek.

"But the way things have unfolded it could be a case of 'what if' for us at the end of the season."

Adam Webster will be looking to hit the scoresheet again and Tuohy was full of admiration for his brilliant strike at Newport County last week.

"It was a terrific goal," he said. "I don't think Adam is ever going to be a 25 goal a season player but he'll certainly get 15 and the workrate of him and Stewart Hadley really is a great asset to the team."

City's youth team clash against Southam United in the Midland Floodlit Youth League has been switched to this Monday at St George's Lane (7.30).

Formcast: City to share the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
