WITHOUT doubt Ledbury now benefits from the highest quality bus services ever known in the history of the town.
The frequency of services to and from outlying villages and within the town itself is equalled only by the latest high-tech passenger-friendly buses which local operators have placed into service.
With ever-increasing traffic congestion and soaring motoring costs, all of our futures will require quality public transport and Ledbury has it here and now!
Regrettably, despite the substantial investment in state-of-the-art 21st Century public transport, these high quality accessible buses arrive at Ledbury's town centre bus stops (the Market House and War Memorial) only to find that selfish, lazy car drivers have parked on the stops, preventing the buses from letting passengers alight in safety and comfort.
The new "no step" buses should be able to offer ease for the elderly and unsteady on their feet or those with shopping trolleys, not to mention mums with baby buggies who enjoy new-found easy access to the bus, but if that bus cannot draw up parallel to the kerb, the advantage and the quality is lost!
Why are Ledbury drivers such thoughtless and selfish parkers? Perhaps the solution to this problem lies in the recruitment of a few more traffic wardens!
