I CANNOT believe it! Malvern Hills District Council has decided that we should all have to put our filled dustbin bags out at the front of our properties.

If you are in need of a new hip, live alone and can hardly even struggle around inside your house, it means you. If you are blind, use a wheelchair or have a bad heart, it means you. If you are a stressed and busy working person, you will have one more thing to remember to do.

The council says it will give help to anyone who needs it. I wonder how this is to be achieved? Will the elderly or disabled have to have signs at the front of their properties? Will the bin men have a list of properties where they must go to the back to collect the bags? I suspect that this would take longer than calling at all premises.

I wonder if more services are to be cut. Perhaps we should all be made responsible for sweeping and gritting the piece of road outside our homes? Sack all the postmen and we can all collect our letters from the post office!

This is not so fantastic, as soon all the elderly and infirm will actually be forced to carry dirty and heavy bags of sticky, smelly and sharp rubbish! I really can't believe it, can you? Is there no compassion to be found?
