A MALVERN army cadet has won a prize for collecting the most money during the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal in Worcestershire.
As part of the Lord Lieutenant of Worcestershire, Michael Brinton's, new competition to thank army, air force and sea cadets in the county for raising money, 14-year-old Julian Robinson is the first to become an individual winner.
He raised £179 while collecting outside the Co-op, Kwiksave and McDonalds in Malvern Link and will receive his prize at a ceremony in April.
Julian's cadet force also took the prize for the county by raising a total of £547.88. All the county's cadet units together raised £2,649, which is only £100 short of the amount raised by the competition's national winners.
