CITY families are being urged to think green this Easter and recycle the foil from their chocolate treats.
The call has come from Worcester City Council and special yellow foil bins can be found at Sainsbury's in Windermere Drive, Tesco in St Peter's, Bilford Road Household Waste Site and Hallow Road Household Waste Site.
The foil is collected, sorted and processed by Perryfields Day Centre.
Foil can also be handed in at the centre or St John's Library.
The best way to identify recyclable foil is by doing a "scrunch" test. If aluminium foil is scrunched up in the palm of your hand it will remain squashed; plastic which looks like foil - for example, crisp packets - will spring back to its original shape.
Recyclable foil can be found on a variety of products, including seasonal treats and takeaway meal containers.
Aerosols, along with steel and aluminium cans and foil, can also be recycled in the can banks.
These range from health and beauty products such as deodorant, hair spray and mousse; household cleaning products such as polish, oven cleaner and air freshener, maintenance items such as lubricants and paint and food items such as cream.
Hannah Phoenix, assistant environmental protection officer at Worcester City Council, urged people to make recycling part of their lives to make a difference to the environment.
