Harriers made a change of their own on 50 minutes as Ducros came on for Foster in a straight swap.
Within a minute, Harriers' record signing beat the offside trap onto a Clarkson long pass only to fire wastefully wide into the side netting.
The home side missed a good chance soon after when Nogan headed straight at Brock from a fine Edmondson cross.
Hinton gave the ball away on 54 minutes, which allowed Nogan to release Potter down the left but the full back's slow pass into the box was dragged wide by young midfielder Wood.
On 61 minutes a good interception by Clarkson prevented a York chance but the right-back was booked three minutes later for clattering Brass.
