A SPECIAL service to celebrate the Christian faith captured the imagination of hundreds of visitors to Worcester Cathedral yesterday.

The Diocesan Pilgrimage took place throughout the day, bringing together people from across the county for prayers, services, activities and workshops.

The day was organised following last year's successful Assembly, and the Bishop of Worcester, the Rt Rev Peter Selby, was thrilled with the occasion.

"The programme for the Diocesan Pilgrimage was both stretching and enjoyable, with something to offer for the widest possible range of participants," he said.

Guests at the gathering included the Rev John Bell, from the Iona Community, and workshops available ranged from Pray with Clay and Praying with Paint to Dancing Icons and Godly Play.

Other highlights included the morning Eucharist and the Celtic-style Evening Worship, led by the Rev John Bell.
